When is wrong to use all of the road space and merge in turn? Err, never. All those empty headed drivers causing more congestion by filling up one lane and leaving the other empty.

@jacobbocks4798 in the UK's Highway Code it states that when queuing use all the available road space and merge close to the point where the lanes merge. Number 2 is exactly what drivers in the UK are supposed to do. However, we also have the same empty heads who will congregate in the lane that will remain open instead of using all available road space causing unnecessary congestion. I'm surprised that the states don't have a similar rule.

@backfill9183 nope. You sh6always use the whole of the available carriage way otherwise the tailback gets longer. Only the empty heads don't get this.

@Knards no, he chose not to extended th tail back but chose to attempt to merge in turn closur to the merge point. By failing to use all of the avail.able road space all you get is a long tailback, one that would start to affect the roads leading into the junction the cammer came from. What he failed to was indicate his wish to merge and caused a road rage incident.

@cornfed123567 which is what he was trying to do. He was merging close to the merge point. And what's wrong with trying to make the world a little better?
1
@nobody7817 the merge part was done poorly but the all those queuing drivers were showing equally poor driving skills.
1
@nobody7817 so the vehicle that came past the cammer never accelerated from a stand?
1
@nobody7817 I must have been watching a different clip because as he comes across a vehicle comes from behind..

@PB-jo9vq so there were 2 moving vehicles. Thank you for confirming that. I've never said the cammer did a good merge, just that was what he was intending.

@PB-jo9vq never said anything about blocking. Although he did end up blocking him. I said that the cammer was making better use of the road space by not joining the queue of vehicles. I've also not said that he made a good merge. My position is that the drivers of the queuing traffic showed poor decision making by forming a single line which caused the traffic to fill up that lane to the junction instead of using all road space. The cammer, on the other hand made good use of that road space until forcing his way in instead of joining the queuing traffic in an appropriate way. Yes, it looks like queue jumping but it isn't. The queuing drivers created the space for this short of driver to exploit and by not using the road space fully they weren't using their brains ie they were empty heads. Not that the cammer wasn't equally empty headed at the end.

@PB-jo9vq it must have been stationary as we see the queue start to move.
1
@PB-jo9vq I don't agree I think the vehicles at the rear are stationary. My initial point was that the people in that queue are dumb for not using all of the available road space and thus allowing the cammer the space to pull this stunt.
