to me it seems those passports are not additional, but meant as replacement of US and GER as soon as shit hits the fan. Peter Thiel was obliged to ask nicely twice to keep his german passport, first for US and second time for NZ. maltese citizenship is a no brainer for germany for obvious reasons: unless you aim for top level job in government you dont need a german citizenship and any citizenship from the other >25 EU/EEA member states will suffice to reside and set up business.
