  1. move to the "more secure" country and start the process. it takes 8 years to get german citizenship for example.

  2.  @gabes80  you might retain the residence privileges of a former EU citizen, granted by EU to not interrupt your life if you were abroad already. see Brexit: UK citizens who filed on time are still able to sit it out within EU.

  3.  @gabes80  it might help if you spill the beans: what country you are currently citzen of ? there is a lot of posturing by certain countries about leaving EU, but usually it falls flat on its face, once challenged by reality. the pro of membership is just too good to pass IMHO.
