@Fenrasulfr the english term is Principality, so the head of state is a prince. still the same as monarch and not to confused with "son of king", who is a prince too. the superior to Prince of Liechtenstein would be the Holy Roman Emperor, but such a title does not exist anymore :D

anti-monarchists, do they even exist "up on the young Rhine" ? :D

@onneheijsteeg8507 maybe confused Liechtenstein with Luxembourg, the head of state of the latter is a grand duke.

Hellenic Republic = Elliniki Dimokratia the english and original designations for today's Greece :D

@Fenrasulfr no prob. ranks of nobility are confusing sometimes; especially the co-princes of andorra: a spanish bishop and the french president :D

a flat argument as monarchs usually sit on trust/estates which already provides for maintenance. but presidents leech on taxpayers, because there is nothing else to provide.

@Fenrasulfr both are hereditary Principalities. so far so good. :)

@MisterSquirtle afaik populace of LI is not so adamant against the principality for a chance of a change. or the populace knows they cannot seize the property to keep it for whatever republic they envision ? a poor republic is not an advantage over a rich prince. ;)

presidential systems fail in the same category, so what ?

and what of the other billionaires ? .)

@Fenrasulfr aah happens :)

@Edmonton-of2ec LI is tied to CH (currency and postal zip codes etc); otherwise the monarchy would have been abolished like the austrian's 100 years ago. fortunately for tiny Liechtenstein Switzerland is cool with it.

@gabrielegenota1480 you cannot run for president without some pampered background; sometimes you are blessed with a fortune to spent on campains or you are in debt to the donors of campaigns. personal endeavours wont help here.... on the other hand royal families are trained to serve and represent.
2
naah, it would be hereditary ;)

lot of monarchies rank pretty in democracy, others not. depends on countries

@GAMER123GAMING which part of the thread are you salty about ?
1
@GAMER123GAMING never said it is, my correction was Liechtensten is principality, hence no duke as head of state. the other thread member was confusing Luxembourg (a grand duchy) with Liechstenstein (a principality)
