I'm really sorry that this happened to you... On the bright side you are free now and you can get to know God for real if you so choose. It has been my personal experience that true believers become your real family when you get saved. That may or may not be blood relatives. And it requires no church membership or tithe, etc. Even Jesus said that his real family were those that truly did the will of God and He wants to dwell with them for all eternity (for real). Please don't give up hope because God is still on the throne! No, we can't be gods like Him, but we are meant to have a relationship with Him, our Heavenly Father and our Creator.

When they speak of "the world", they mean the things that are not of God. Jesus wasn't of this world and He doesn't want believers to be like the world, nor love it.
A Godly wife and children are blessings from God. What you're witnessing is God's blessing upon this man and his family.

In the Bible the priests ate the meat offerings after they were burnt. It was a "sweet savour" to God to smell the meat burning/cooking. People still ate bread and beans in Biblical times but they were not vegetarian. Long story short, God is not calling all of us to be vegetarian and vegetarianism won't save the world. The Lord Jesus Christ died to save the world.

Unfortunately the problem with these groups is that they don't understand and believe the gospel and therefore they are not saved. This is not my view; it is genuine Christianity. Being saved by grace through faith. Being wrong about this leads to eternal damnation.

Lot lingered and angels literally grabbed him and his family and took them out of the city. In order to keep them safe the Lord had to take them out. Only the Lord knows what people should do in their specific situation, but we can't use that story to illustrate remaining in a city.

Not eating meat is what the Bible calls a "doctrine of devils" and God gave mankind dominion over all the living creatures. Veganism isn't wise and it isn't Biblical. Our bodies require animal proteins to help the hormones in the body work properly (especially men with testosterone). Eating meat actually makes a man more masculine.

Satan is a created being, initially created by God to serve God, as are the fallen angels or devils that rebelled with Satan against God. They were at no time people. Human beings were created "a little lower than the angels". Hell was created for Satan and his (fallen) angels because God has to put them somewhere for punishment. Satan is busy trying to bring people with him to hell.

Peter, exploring these religions is great. It has since come to light that Titus is actually a Seventh Day Adventist so you inadvertently covered that group too.
I pray that one day you will interview genuine Bible-believing Christians that preach and teach just the Bible. They aren't part of any large organized church system and their main concerns are getting people eternally saved and correct Biblically sound doctrine! The true plan of salvation is extremely simple and anyone can get saved by GENUINE faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. All these groups muddy the waters and make is seem complicated or confusing, when that is not the case.

As a non-believer do you honestly want to be close friends with Bible-believing Christians that will want to mostly talk about the Bible and also live by it? Chances are very high that you would personally not want much to do with them. You already said that you had a "problem" with my "faith manual".
The Lord Jesus Christ walked the earth and most didn't accept Him. They hated Him so much that they crucified Him for saying that He was God and martyred His disciples, the Apostles.

Loving their own sin is usually the reason that unbelievers never get saved to begin with. We first must understand that we are all wretched sinners in need of a perfect Savior and that we are entirely incapable of ever saving ourselves with our righteousness or good works. This is not what this church teaches at all and people are not getting saved within it. That could explain why they may live like the lost world when they leave the church and enter the lost world. Because they are lost as all unbelievers are.

We don't have prophets today in the sense that there is nobody to write a new book like Moses. The Bible has already been written. The next time it is certain prophets will be around is during the seven year tribulation when Moses and Elijah, the two witnesses come back in Jerusalem.

We are warned not to add anything to God's word. Groups such as the Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses and Seventh Day Adventists all have prophets and extra-Biblical books that add or subtract from Scripture. I am a Bible believing Christian. I believe that God's word is perfect and complete. It has been preserved for the English-speaking people (with translations in many other languages such as Russian, Spanish, German and Chinese). I don't need new revelation or a new prophet. We already have all we need in God's word.
Deuteronomy 4:2 KJV - Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.
Proverbs 30:6 KJV - Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

There are no new prophets of God today or in Joseph Smith's time. Just many false prophets deceiving. No need to try to make it confusing. We are not saved by a church or a prophet or by good works. Learn the true Gospel and please get saved, before it's too late.

We are not a "species", we were made a little lower than the angels. God gave all of us our consciences. Believers know that they are a sinners and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for their eternal salvation. Non-believers often believe that they either already are "good people" or that they can become "good" through "good works", and therefore do not need a savior. Jesus Christ already has conquered hell and death and is standing victorious. All that people have left to do is get on the winning side.

If we could earn our salvation, why did Jesus die for us? Absolutely anyone can be saved when they receive the Lord Jesus Christ and what He did for them on the cross. What you're missing is that believers who do nothing to serve the Lord in their lifetime, will have no rewards in eternity, but it doesn't determine their salvation. Believers who do things with the wrong intention (trying to appear good, etc.) will find that their works are burnt up.

The only way to be saved is to believe and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ is going to come back for true believers soon and take them out of here, not the entire world. The rest of the world will stay for the great tribulation. Seven years later Jesus comes back down to earth with his church. You can read about that in Revelation 19 (King James Bible).
Titus is off in what he is teaching because he was raised in the Seventh Day Adventist church, so I wouldn't go by what he is saying. I pray that you will read the Bible for yourself.

I appreciate Jordan Peterson for his perspectives, but the question is, is he truly born again and believing in and trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ for his eternal salvation? It seems as though he is still approaching God from his intellect and not his heart. It seems more likely that God is working on his heart and he is not actually saved yet.

Right, we are only children of God when we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ; that He died to pay for our sins and rose again the third day. We have to receive the Lord Jesus Christ and believe that He is who He said He was. We do not have to follow extra-biblical books or prophets. We are all given a conscience by God and the law is written on our hearts, so that we all know right from wrong. All religions other than (true Biblical) Christianity have something in common as they are works-based systems where people attempt to be good, enlightened people. Good works are commendable but they won't save us, only faith in Jesus Christ will.

That is by design. A strong family unit which multiplied exponentially is a powerful thing that Satan hated. Feminism had it's hand in destroying the traditional Christian family unit and we are seeing the results now. Less children, less marriage, more divorce, more discontent. What you consider constraining was actually supposed to act as protection for men, women and children and create generational legacies.
Genuine believers can become a "close-knit community" today because they are a family ("children of God"). In eternity believers aren't married (as Mormons suppose), but it is one big happy family of believers forever. Groups like the Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses and Seventh Day Adventists are considered "cults" because they stray from foundational tenets of the Christian faith. They add to Scripture and they twist Scripture to suit their own beliefs. They were started around the same time and were led by prophets. Technically they are false prophets because they made predictions that never came to pass. SDA was started by a woman which indicates doctrinal issues immediately. They all say that they are regular Christians but they cannot be when their beliefs deviate that far. There has to be distinction between them and regular, basic Christianity. It's good to learn about what these groups believe but I believe in Bible believing Christianity. The kind that doesn't deviate from good doctrine and the word of God. I have experience with a strict vegetarian (vegan) diet too and I do not think it is good for long-term health, so I can't really be fooled with that. I have nothing personally against any of these people, I wish this weren't so... But I really do not want to see anyone misled by false doctrine and believing lies about God or how He has things set up. We all do this at some point and need to have things straightened out with God's truth. We have to continually keep studying God's word.
I'm looking forward to when Jesus reigns on the earth for 1000 years and there is peace during the millennial kingdom. Not all believers, but a portion of believers will be reigning with him. We will have glorified bodies then. Look into it and get excited because it's in the Bible and it's 100% going to happen. Praise the Lord of Lords and King of Kings!

Titus seems to just be repeating what he was taught by the Seventh Day Adventist Church, which many Christians would disagree with. That aside, according to the word of God, the great tribulation is coming and with it the Antichrist and the beast system. The only way out of this mess is to become born again and be saved by the Lord Jesus Christ. We are not all related as God's creation. That would mean that we are brothers also with animals and rocks, merely because God created everything and everyone. God created everyone with free will. You are completely free to choose to reject God's free gift of salvation, just as anyone else is.

Oh, real Christians are quite aware of how they are viewed by the world. But when you know the Lord Jesus Christ and know that you get to be with Him forever, it matters not.

When someone is born again their new giant family is other believers. As a former non-believer I have tried to encourage loved ones (and strangers) to get saved so that they would have eternal salvation. God gave everyone free will so that they can freely choose Him. If they do not, well they won't have close fellowship with believers and they will be going to a very unpleasant place for eternity.

Many people that profess that they are "Christians" are not Christians at all and that was even said by at least one of the people that picked Peter and Titus up. He called them "Sunday morning Christians." There is a vast difference between being "religious" and having a genuine relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Blaming sinners for the problems in this world is correct because all people have a sin problem that can only be remedied by trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation from sin, mortal death (and wrath of God). Through Christ's sacrifice for us we can receive eternal life.
The fact that more and more people are rejecting their Creator than ever before alone proves that the world is going straight to hell. Wide is the path and many walk on it. Sorry, you can't solely blame God's people for all the ills of the world. The responsibility lies with all sinners... Many religions are totally opposed to the God of the Bible and are indeed serving Satan. Satan is the god of this world.
