The Russians are still losing helicopters to the stingers and the stingers have been upgraded since the ones that were used in Afghanistan in the 80's

@robendert7617 it's a desperate situation the stingers are the best that can be given at this time some advanced SAM systems would be great and more armed drones as well. It's frustrating to see that large convoy sitting there every day and not getting hit.

In the end the Ukrainian military will turn to an insurgency abandoning the rubble to the Russians. The Russians will capture the cities but in reality they won't really be capturing anything

@mohammedibrahimshakeel7758 The Taliban in Afghanistan were hiding amount the civilian population and using IED and indirect fire weapons like mortars they very rarely ever faced the NATO forces in pitched battle they knew they would be destroyed. If NATO tried to do a big operation against them they would either hide in the civilian population or run over the border to Pakistan until the pressure come off. The Taliban had a safe haven in Pakistan which served as a base of operations for them they recruited there and trained personnel,they got medical care there,stock piled weapons and ammunition, they also sourced the fertilizer they used to make their IED from Pakistan. When the Taliban attacked more often than not they attacked the Afghan national army because they were seen as an easier target. The Taliban avoided major battles that would have resulted in heavy casualties and made it a battle of time. They have a saying in Afghanistan you have the watches but we have the time. They mean you have all the equipment and technology but we have time we will just wait you out and that's what the Taliban did

@robendert7617 yes I agree the supply issue is huge for both sides the Ukrainians need stingers and javelins in large numbers to stop the Russians getting any momentum and to keep putting pain on them to a point they are prepared to talk. The Ukrainian military needs to switch to an insurgency and not worry about defending the major cities make it a drawn out battle inflicting casualties to force a stalemate so the two sides can genuinely start talking and reach an agreement to stop the fighting.
