The Ukrainian can transition to an insurgency anytime they need to and the fight will drag on for years and Russians will keep dying. Wait till Putin has to conscript men from Moscow and other major cities these are men with education and careers who don't want to die in Ukraine they won't be willing. Russia is an imperialist invader and if they can't break the will of the Ukrainian people to resist Russia is going to lose
