They take control of those resources they can use them to make money and also take control of Ukraine economically. What's going on in Ukraine is way above your pay grade you have no idea.

Once the west can buy from Ukraine they don't need Russia gas not only will Russia lose money but Putin won't be able to use his energy supplies as political leverage against the west he won't amount to anything.

Russia has attacked Chechnya, Georgia and Ukraine since the fall of the Soviet Union Putin is a tyrant to his neighbours. The only way Ukraine could avoid being attacked by Russia was to agree to be a subservient dog to Russia. There were no problems in Ukraine until Russia started interfering and Ukraine wasn't going to massacre anyone or get nukes they wanted to develop the country into a modern state and be part of the EU They turned their backs on The gangsters in the Kremlin and are being attacked for it. The answer is he doesn't care about Finland because they have nothing he wants Ukraine has the resources and that's what this war is all about. Russia wants to control Ukraine they don't want them walking away from Russia and joining the western world. As I told you Ukraine fully develop their natural resources like gas and start selling to the west the west won't need to buy from Russia so Russia will lose money and won't be able to use their energy resources to have political leverage over the west. Once the west isn't reliant on Russia gas Putin won't amount to anything that's what this war is about
