Caleb Clark should be developed as a centre he has all the physical attributes for the position.
85
@nielvanderwalt1965 BS Tana Umaga was a winger and was developed into a centre and Ma Nonu took time to develop as a midfield back and turned into one of our best.
11
@GoldenbanjoDJ Italy nearly beat France this year and no team in the six Nations did to Italy what the all blacks just did that's why people are excited. What the all blacks and Ireland have done in the past is irrelevant in the quarter final it comes down to that 80 mins and it could go either way
6
@johannesapril2590 We need a ball runner in the midfield with physical presence who can pull in tacklers and off load and can step around a tackler or through the tackle and pass to the wingers.
6
They should be worried complacency gets you beaten.
6
@shannonapaapa3374 He can pass and has good footwork he steps plenty of defenders. You seriously think he isn't capable of putting a hard tackle on someone the world cup is 4 years away plenty of time to develop him in the position.
5
The All blacks were a great side long before we had Polynesians in the team and most of the Polynesians in the All blacks were born in New Zealand or came here at a young age they weren't scouted by the NZRU sending people to the islands
5
We got a chance against Ireland if we keep the penalties to a minimum and no cards
5
@austingtir it's early days for Scott Robertson the world cup is 4 years away we have to find a power player for the midfield if it's not Clarke they're going to have to get serious about Proctor
4
Maybe the players just aren't that good some of the mistakes we saw last week were like what you would see in club rugby.
4
Proud of the All Blacks performance but i don't like Aaron Smiths box kicks they constantly lose us possession
4
He leads with his actions
3
@carlomac No it's not a copout he leads from the front setting the example for others to follow. Actions speak louder than words
3
@DrissZyanisorrybutyourtimeisfi everyone beat the drum for him for years saying to get rid of foster well they got what they wanted.
3
@brentwithey4241 the box kicks concern me even more we just give the opposition the ball back inside our half it's insane.
3
@garrymajor7528 Distribution can be learned and I saw him against Fiji break the line and the first thing he looked to do was pass to the outside so I think he could be successful at the position. Time will tell.
3
@intercept1710 Reiko clearly needs to go back on the wing. They surely have to give Proctor a run in a big game at some point and I believe caleb Clarke future is in the midfield given time.
3
@DRE-HRUYAN yes Nonu and Umaga were wings that moved infield and so was caleb Clarke's father Eroni. We had tana, Nonu and Sonny Bill Williams bringing the power game into the mid field drawing in multiple tacklers creating opportunities for people and we don't have anyone doing that at the moment.
3
Please stop doing repeated box kicks more often than not all they do is give away possession.
3
Don't make excuses if it doesn't happen.
3
@nepiahemopo1702 too much of a showman 🙄 he's world class and one of the few current all black forwards who deserve that label.
2
One loss and he's a bad appointment 😂we heard for years that he was the man for the job and Foster needed to go
2
@timmado8441 funny he played against Fiji made a break and looked to pass to the outside
2
@nepiahemopo1702 i guess they could just leave things as they are when they're clearly not working.
2
@Scrotomus look how it worked for tana Umaga,Na Nonu and Eroni Clarke.
2
@austingtir He might suprise people we have to try something because there's no one bringing the power game to the mid field drawing in multiple tacklers creating space.
2
@Scrotomus if he can't pass how is he playing rugby? To say he has no distribution game is laughable against Fiji he broke the line and the first thing he did was look to pass.
2
If they get dumped out in the quarter finals they weren't good enough
2
@mylord4916 the All blacks have got to back themselves more with ball in hand we use to be the best ball running team in the world. We also need to cut down on penalties it's been ruining us
2
It's going to be a close game I'm from New Zealand I think there won't be more than 7 points in it
2
We are never complacent and we have every right to criticise referees when they deserve it just like every other team does. We need to reduce the penalty count, improve our tactical kicking and find a better number 10 and it will help us a great deal We don't try to defame any of our opposition.
2
@markalexwhite yes Ireland has certainly come a long way they're an excellent team
2
@markalexwhite yes I think so too. Those two quarter finals are going to be cliff hangers to watch.
2
@RazorMouth they were off their game because they were getting their ass kicked
2
@DrissZyanisorrybutyourtimeisfi they need daddy to hold their hands🙄 these guys are the best we have they shouldn't need someone to tell them how to do their job
1
@nepiahemopo1702 neither is Savea he makes the gain line better than anyone else and tackles hard he gives it everything he has every time he's out there.
1
@GoldenbanjoDJ There are no favourites at a world cup how often do you see the world cup play out like predicted. The All blacks when they fire are a good team that can beat anyone but consistency is a problem for them as is discipline they've been giving away too many penalties and cards. If they tidy those areas up they have a great chance of beating Ireland the game will go close there will be no more then 7 points in it what ever way it goes
1
Every top level athlete or team thinks they're going to win every time you have to think that way to be successful
1
We bring our A game there won't be more than 7 points in it either way.
1
The All Black team has promise they could have won both tests with a better kicking game and better accuracy. They're just not nailing opportunities in key moments.
1
We got every chance of winning a series we could have won both tests against South Africa with a bit more IQ. We are giving away too many penalties and kicking away too much ball plus we don't have a decent number 10 to run the ship..
1
The Quarter finals are going to be great as an all blacks fan it will take a miracle for us to beat Ireland. We end up bowing out in the 1/4 finals Ian Foster will go down in history as our worst coach by a long way.
1
@brentwithey4241 the box kicks have never worked for us more often than not we just give possession away inside our own half and allow the opposition to put us under pressure. We should be keeping the ball in hand and hitting it up a few times to improve our position then kick long with aggressive chasing to force the opposition to kick it out or kick it back to us.
1
Time will tell we have a better forward pack then the Australians and that will help our backline.
1
@rob-nz6342 Because you're not guaranteed to get the same outcome just because Reiko didn't turn into a good centre doesn't mean Clarke won't. I saw him against Fiji he broke the line and the first thing he looked to do was pass. Nowhere in this column have I said throw Clarke straight into centre I said they should be looking to develop him as a centre the world cup is 4 years away. We need a power player in the midfield to draw in tacklers and give the opposition something to think about freeing up space. If they're not putting proctor in there they need to look for someone else.
1
@Scrotomus No they choose not to pass there's a big difference.
1
@DarkMoonWayfarer he's the same build as ma Nonu and the guys we got there now are leaking tries anyway. The world cup is four years away they should look at getting him some game time in super rugby at centre to see how he goes and if he shows promise look to develop him there. Reiko clearly isn't the guy for the job if he fails again this week they have to look at starting proctor at centre but they can't just rely on one guy they need to try and develop some depth in the position.
1
@Scrotomus you brought them up. Caleb Clarke broke the line against Fiji and the first thing he did was look to pass which is what you want from a centre
1
@ljproduction21 yeah that's a must for a ball distributor Reiko isn't doing the job and hopefully Proctor measures up at the highest level but we can't just rely on proctor we need depth in the position. We have no shortage of wingers but not so many powerful centres and Caleb Clarke has the potential to be developed into one. The world cup is 4 years away so they could try him in super rugby and see how he goes if he performs well in the position great if not no harm done leave him on the wing.
1
@ljproduction21 he's hedging his bets I think if he can get established in a starting position he will stick around if not he will leave when his contract is finished.
