What you experienced was grieving. With all loss there is grief. If you do not express these emotions, they cloud your mind and emotions. Crying is the natural way that your body processes painful feelings. The feelings do not go away until they are felt and expressed. Felt by your mind and body and then released as tears. Emotions are messengers whose purpose is for your survival. If you don't receive their message, these feelings will haunt you until you do. They never just go away. Emotions must deliver their message and be expressed before they will go away and your mind can clear. I went through an agonizing grieving period recently where I was in so much emotional pain that I wanted to end my life. The grieving was horrendous. After it ended, I was no longer weighed down by the circumstances of my life but found a renewed strength of my spirit. I was then able to cope with life again with a new inner optimism that had been lost for the time I was grieving. I understand now what was happening but at the time I knew nothing about emotions and grief. I am grateful that I learned what I did about my emotions, their purpose and how to manage them. Crying is very good for you. The sooner one can "process" painful emotions, the better. I hope this info helps to clarify your experience. Telling people not to cry is NOT helpful. I would suggest that you read a little more about emotions and their purpose. It is quite interesting. Maybe YT or Google. ❤️🙋🏼♀️
