  4. Carbon tax has been proven to discourage and lower use of fossil fuels in other countries. It is a viable strategy. To implement it at this time, when the population is barely able to pay their expenses was a mistake. Also, they should have at least explained it to the public. I think at this time it should be levied only on big businesses to encourage the implementation of other energy sources.

  6. The tax was shown to reduce fossil fuel use of companies. That is why they implemented it. They should have explained to the Canadian people or just taxed the big companies. It is difficult enough to live these days. I am homeless for the first time at 67.

  7. Taxing citizens was not a good idea at this time. Especially not telling them why they were doing it. This tax was shown to be effective in other countries to discourage and lower the use of fossil fuels. Canadians think it's just a money grab. I think the government should only use this strategy on big businesses to discourage their enormous use of fossil fuels.

Don't be so arrogant that you think you couldn't possibly be wrong. If you are wrong, the consequences are horrendous. Why would you risk it ? Not a good idea. Be on the safe side.

  14. Yes I think the carbon tax was not appropriate at this time when people are barely getting by. The carbon tax was proven to lower the use of fossil fuels in other countries. I think it should have only been for the big businesses who need to be accountable for the pollution they produce in the atmosphere. Other strategies to reduce fossil fuel use would be more welcome than a tax.
