They also sell wireless cameras that record regardless of WiFi connection. Just make sure it records to an SD card. We use Reolink, but I'm sure there are other companies out there.

@ well it was a question with 1 solution. It’s good to know about ups lasting that long. Last time I bought one for my parents years ago. I just remember the battery was just enough for when the power goes off to save and shut down. And to answer you, this battery actually lasts all night on a full charge. It actually lasts over a day when going on just the battery.

But what about when the power goes off? I know wireless has its flaws, but if you buy one with an SD card and a solar panel, you at least get recording if the power goes out or there's a jammer.

@GuretoSefirosu ah I just also realized that solar depends on where you live. Here we have literal summer all year long, but of course in some parts of the world solar isn’t the best due to that. Just remembered when I was stationed in Europe when I was in the service. We didn’t get a lot of sun in Germany throughout the year. So ymmv in those cases then. Options are always good though

@bloodlove93 nobody said this is the final solution. This is just a solution for those who want wireless without having to setup wires. Pros and cons for all solutions. This setup we have uses solar and we have plenty of sun all year long so at night the camera is fully charged. YMMV because not all places have this luxury. In both scenarios (wireless/wired some one can just remove the camera or break it. So goes back to every solution has its pros and cons. So depends on the setup. Some people who rent may not even be allowed to work with wires if it means violating lease constraints

And if the power goes off? We have a solar power camera with an SD camera. So it works always regardless of power or a jammer
