  1. the concern of Chinese businesses handing over data on their servers to the CCP goes back beyond 2017 though. It was before Snowden leaked the info about the NSA prism program. I can't remember if it was 1 year or 3 years before. But anyways I read this article that mentioned how Chinese companies are compelled to do this at any moment. Perhaps it wasn't law, but prior to the 2017 you mentioned it was going on. Strange that they just made it law and public. I'll have to find the article, but it had a lot of sources. In fact I did a lot of research in that time and found a lot of disturbing info about it. After the Snowden leaks it was clear that if the US could do it, def the CCP could do it. I just don't agree with banning TikTok though. I wouldn't recommend anyone using it, but people just need to be educated. we are in America you know. we educate people and let them choose what to do. I really don't like it when the government tells anyone what to do. it's like, what's the point of the constitution then? For government workers/hardware/software, def should have restrictions and each private company can choose how they handle it with recommendations from the government. But we live in reality and well here we are lolz :face-blue-smiling:
