Mussolini invaded Greece and only told Hitler after the fact to spite him. He was so furious that Hitler would leave him in the cold on all of his other plans in the past. This caused Hitler to have a tantrum since it screwed up his plans and he ended up (due to this and the Yugoslavian coup) to call off operation Barbarossa for 4-5 weeks.
