If you call your bank on your debit card (I’m not sure about CC that isn’t a debit but maybe the same applies) you just tell them to add xyz bank to a blacklist. I believe my bank allows me to do this via their app and their website too. You might be able to do that on CC website/app too but it may be the case where some let you do this and others not. Another option is to turn off your card and only turn it on when you’re going to charge something. This is a feature that’s been on most banks for years now for debit and CC. Some bad advice here is about your credit score. For you it may be nothing, but most jobs when they do background checks will do a credit check too. Especially if you’re applying for a job that is SOC certified. My last 2 jobs did this. I have good credit and I’m a software engineer so, no it’s not just for financial jobs. You should at least inform people this before they follow your advice and screw themselves over in the same manner how these deceptive companies do. Oh the irony. 🙄😹
