  3.  @jbird4478  there's nothing secret about what its doing when you run it on your machine, you can change it if you want, and they do explain in detail how it was created. in all the ways that actually matter, its open source.

  4. "locally" can also sometimes lazily refer to running these models on your own cloud instance, which is what most people do AFAIK. you'd need about 400 GB of vram to run the largest model.
