  1. 1:02 I'm going to say something horrible, but think about it pragmatically anyway: Russia just used about 100 of its most advanced and expensive missiles in order to kill 19 people. With 1000€ on a single desperate taliban one could kill 50 people. So I would say that the primary purpose of this operation was not to kill, but to say that they are rich and they don't care about lives, which is something that works better internally in the mafia than internationally.

  2. 10:37 What I notice is that the Ukrainians who demanded independence in 2018 in ДНР and ЛНР are not too likely to wear the "Z" symbol. This is a very Russian-specific movement, and concretely promoted by the Russian government via postings. I haven't seen many "Z" worn by the relatives of the mobilized Russians either. More by people in charge of supervising them. So I suspect that the Russians who wear "Z" symbols are the ones who know the least about the conflict. Despite this guy should knows what a bridge or a children's playground or a bike path is, and despite he was probably told that explosions are dangerous, and despite he probably knows that the death of loved ones can hurt, he doesn't realize that he is celebrating the murder of civilians, children included. From his hallucinatory point of view, all of this must be extremely abstract, remote, like some kind of war between demons and angels at the border of his world. For him, it may be nothing but a number kills to put in front of a number of "victims in Donbass" he imagines without knowing anything about them. He doesn't realize the reality of what is going on. It seems pretty obvious that this guy, like Z-ists activists in general, isn't a victim of such violence himself. He is advocating for something he knows nothing about, by simply mirroring the mood seen in the medias and by instinctive social strategy, without being interested in the content even intellectually. It's not that he enjoys killing people. He probably wouldn't be able to kill them himself. If you ask him, he will probably repeat that killing is bad like in school or in a church. The trick is he can't keep in mind that those very remote Ukrainians also are, indeed, real people. Put him there, on that bridge, right in front of the explosion when it happens, and he might wake up. If he's experiencing the events in real life instead of watching them like a film on TV, he might say something like, "Hey, that's crazy, that's dangerous, you almost killed me! It could hurt ! It could kill anybody! You can't do that!" Because his own organs would make him feel how undesirable it is instead of letting him listen to flattering nationalistic words.
