I have no trust issue with this guy. I've heard enough from pro-Putin and anti-Putin Russians themselves, and from witnesses of various backgrounds, and I've studied History and human nature enough, to have no doubts that horrors are happening in the occupied territories right now, and that the more we take our time, the worse it will get.
I don't want to stop him from crying in public if he needs to.
That said, we have a big social and communication problem to solve urgently here: what he's doing with this video, communicating emotions without presenting evidence of what causes them , can be imitated by any fucking paid propagandist , and too many people aren't educated or smart enough to tell the difference.
- Teaching people how to spot liars takes decades. It will be too late.
- Simply doing more than the adversarial propaganda will only make us look even more like propaganda , if not actually turning ourselves into propagandists in the worst case scenario.
So, as cruel and hurtful and dark it may seem at first, if we want to work with reality and bring more people in reality to make that reality better, we MUST throw raw, unfiltered evidence of what is happening to the face of the audience. It's a duty.
If, like YouTube , we remain afraid that showing the truth without filter might hurt our puny business, that it might reduce our personal income, then shame on us for being despicable assholes who are okay with hiding crimes, okay with helping liars, torturers and murderers, and letting other people suffer more so that we enjoy a little more psychological comfort and wealth for now. Shame on us for claiming that the point is to "protect" the audience when all we do is protecting investors' bank accounts and the worst evildoers!
Truth isn't comfy , but it's our duty to face it so we can at least know the real world we live in and build a better future.
Refusing to face crimes as they are only makes them come to us sooner.
And if we "in the West" react only to displays of emotions without access to the facts, without reason, then it means that we are as vulnerable to В.В.Пу́тин's gang than any drunk Z-ist , as mentally vulnerable and potentially criminal as any Taliban, extremist Zionist, political fanatic and other hallucinated religious zealots, and thus share the same fate.
Let's be better than that. Let's face and share reality in full resolution. Don't pretend anymore that we couldn't know in time.
