For me, they perfectly managed to go from one point to another by foot, on time and without losing anybody, so they did march: it was a successful march, no doubt on that. I just wondered why they needed to destroy their joints so much by walking without any flexibility, but someone told me they do so in order to preserve some traditions. I saw in it a poetic echo to the call for human sacrifice from their supreme leader, making a strongly romantic point. It's only a matter of masochist preferences. It doesn't make it less a march.

So, after giving tangerines to Ukrainian prisoners to look like a very honorable general, he is trying to seduce all the frustrated Russian and Tchetchnian officers, by talking about their common issues and by looking like them. If it works, he still have a chance to march on Moscow. Otherwise he will be either killed or taken to the Hague by the Ukrainian forces, or later killed by the Russian government. The error of the Kremlin with him is to let him no (false) hope. He can insult Putin because Putin has already decided to eliminate him no matter how.

4:16 I've seen this video. What this picture doesn't show is that there's a Ukrainian tank demolishing trees right behind them, closer than a stone’s throw. I guess they refused to die just like other fighters of the Russian forces before them in a similar trench along trees, who tried to resist using an anti-tank rifle, a missile and grenades, to no avail, and therefore suffered from tank main weapon fire at point-blank and then ended up buried under the tracks. With more infantry around they could have surrendered instead of running like rabbits. Too bad, but much better than killing them or letting them play WWII in 2023 in a country that isn't theirs.

We, in contrast, can wait.
