16:46 As I predicted, the mobilization is hurting the Russian economy much harder and longer than any international sanction. It doesn't just affect the currency, which Russians can decide to believe in or not, but it affects the very engine of the economy, the very life of the country, and all sectors at once, with both administrative short-term consequences and terrible physical and social consequences that will still be felt in fifty years.

@betterdonotanswer This is silly. Gaz and oil with nobody to extract it and sell is has no value. If all techs needed to extract it at a competitive price depends on foreign compagnies, then this value isn't Russian anymore. If no Russian is there to improve methods because all their best professors have been killed in Ukraine, it's over: there is no more Russia. Real economy can't be based only on what you have. It's all about what you can transform. Those who count money and stock only are doomed, just as the Spanish kings were doomed believing gold was preferable to human investment.

13:38 Now that we have daytime and close-up video of the track, we can see that it won't be repaired for a long time, because the high temperatures of the fire melted the metal and welded the cars to the rails. It' s a nightmare to clean and repair. But far worse would be any attack on the few existing vehicles that are needed to repair such damage. There is nothing to repair the heavy repair machinery if it burns and gets stuck on the bridge as well. And even if someone make it exists... well... it could burn and get stuck as well. You see where it's going. Apart of that, there is a small chance that such a high temperature also melted rebar inside the bridge, making it weaker and unable to support heavy military equipment or oil tanks as before. Alas, this is not something that can be seen on camera and requires specialized and rare equipment to inspect.

@betterdonotanswer Oh, sure! By hand, sure. Or by sucking it through lemonade straws. The many can make up for anything, right? Hell... it's not about allocating the right number of slaves in front of each machine. It's about culture, it's about identity, it's about creativity, it's about being able to repair and improve these machines, it's about having a future. It's about what people are actually doing with that oil and gas. Oil and gas is going to burn until it's gone anyway, so it depends on how you decide to burn it. If it goes to war, it's lost! So much so that millions of people could work on it for nothing. The remaining ones who aren't being sacrificed, I mean.

They can get people without much combat experience with such methods, because if they try that on killers, they'd be killed.
