  1. Wow! I did the trip to the top of Pikes Peak back in September 1995 and made it all the way by rail (not as windy as your trip and we even had the company of some wildlife beyond the treeline). The Broadmoor Hotel was a wee bit out of my budget. My travelling companion and I stayed in Colorado Springs instead of Manitou. You have covered this trip so well. Brings back a lot of memories for me, even though much of the ground facilities and the trains themselves have been updated. Looking forward to your coverage of the Durango and Silverton with Will next week. Cheers from your friend in Melbourne.🙂🙂
