Sunday morning in beautiful suburban Melbourne and time for my weekly dose of DownieLive. What a great compilation, Mike! You sure have a great following sharing stories about their own parts of the world. Little Patrick and his story about the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad was the outstanding one for me. What a bubbly personality he has! Of course, Sydney Harbour had to trump Melbourne for the Aussie entry. I agree the regular public transport service ferries are the best value for seeing the beauty of the Harbour. There are the usual expensive tourist traps as well. I haven't done the bridge climb myself for a number of reasons but I can tell you it's not one for the faint hearted, especially if you're up there as a train rumbles across below. I've done the pedestrian walk and the bike track across it and there is a distinct movement up and down as a train crosses. When it opened almost 90 years ago (19th March 1932), there were tram tracks on the opposite side to the train tracks and the stability and strength of the bridge was tested by placing 96 steam locomotives over the four tracks during three weeks of testing prior to the opening. Enough from me this week. Stay safe and hope you can travel again soon.

@DownieLive Hey Mike! Glad you like heights. Now I've just had a lazy day on YouTube and came across a great one from Tom Thornton, a young British Traveller who could double for Daniel Radcliffe, the former Harry Potter actor, that covers a fantastic way to spend time in Melbourne. Go to YouTube Tom Thornton and select his 9min.44sec video entitled "A month spent catsitting in Melbourne/ Housesitting in Australia for free". I'm sure you and Nicole would fit into this way of seeing my part of the world (I didn't know Tom or his companion Molly as I have only just discovered Tom's channel and they were staying not more than 10km from where I live!) I posted a comment hoping they can come downunder again when the world gets back to some form of normal. If you have trouble finding the correct Tom Thornton the Youtube search code for the video is watch?v=C4dNNQWtTus. Enjoy!
