The power of being broke and having nothing to lose. Necessity is the driver of action.

@mattmarkus4868 you clearly missed the point of this comment. Anyone who wants to do programming just for the money or other extrinsic motivations is not going to make it as a programmer. The best programmers sincerely wants to learn and understand the tech, and if you dont have this mentality. It will be very hard for you. So, thinking you are getting paid to learn is exactly the correct mindset and the only way you will survive in the tech industry. This is not the same as saying, learn anything you want. Dont confuse that.

Its basics. Dont succumb to your brains dopamine request to eat, it will be more aggresive. Giving you more energy and focus. After you reward your brain with food, it gets lazy.

Thanks for the 1.5x tip. You do seem to focus more because your brain needs to process more info quicker, which also prevents you from getting bored and switching to other tasks.

Just to add: Eat low GI (Glycemic Index) foods, this is so you dont get glucose crashes, which is when you feel tired after eating a particular meal.

@mattmarkus4868 yes, that quote could get taken the wrong way. Which is exactly what you did. It was clearly not what it meant in this context, and youre still defending a useless point. The actual point is of the guy in the video and the op is: assuming the premise that youre a programmer, chances are you enjoy programming, amd if you enjoy it, you must like learning more about it. Therefore, you are actually getting paid to learn more. He didnt say you get paid to get 'taught', he said you get paid to learn. Its a very simple concept. I guess most jobs youll need to learn new things, but it holds more true in the tech industry.

If youre a front end developer you better know how to code javascript, there is mo shying away from here, its the king of the web period.

@ZenityStudios and it's completely rational, but I will tell you though, it's possible to learn programming while you have another job, all you have to do is let your curiosity drive you, don't be afraid, just do it as a game have fun learning, not worrying about other consequences other than doing it for the sake of enjoyment because it can be fun. This way you quell most of the reason your brain tries to convince you that you don't need to learn it.

They dont really teach you programming in the university, the tech changes so much they just want to make sure you have a solid foundation.
2
ofcourse your geography is important, but in most of the general programming world react is growing in popularity very fast. However, if no one is hiring react developers in your area then clearly no point, unless you play to move aorund. Go to an online job search website and type these programs and see how many hits you get in comparison.

Your knowledge of human potential is about 50 years behind my friend. We already know so much about brain plasticity and a growth mindset on how people learn and accomplish amazing things. People who usually think they are born with something (fixed mindset) are never really become the best in their field, because there will always someone better than them and they just accept that. If you have talked to really succesful people they will never tell you talent is what got them there. Kings arent born, they are made. Also the Math part. I know so many programmers and even people who teach programming that doesnt apply math in programming. All you need is basic arithmetic and understand percentages, other than that its all about logic.

@bkstudio1990 you make no sense.
1
@bkstudio1990 I never implied that logic I don't know where you are getting that from.
1
@bkstudio1990 why do you quote me but not actually quote me? I never said that and I never implied that. All I said was there was a power that can come when you have nothing to lose (e.g. being broke) but you made all these invalid extrapolations from it. A then B, doesn't mean A exists if B does.
1
@mattmarkus4868 you missed the point. Tech companies want you to work off the clock so they give you enough reasons to stay in the building as long as possible.
1
@Opi3killz I agree, unless you are going to be doing some intense learning the next few months and have back up money. Usually you want a part time job at least
1
Yea this is the first time hes doing that, i think hes just trying out a new thing.

According to stackoverflow he mentioned, werent you listening? You will get different numbers depending on how you gather data. But python definitely made the biggest growth since inception because of Big Data, ML and Ai
1
Ml and Data science does need some high end maffs like graph theory, probability and statisitics but then again no programmer is a master of this, its all new apllications. machine learning in particular seems to require you to have a bit of knowledge on different disciplines, but hey, this is programming and one of th best ones didnt even graduate.
