He's assuming based on probability, if you can't trust anything, you can triust this: what we do know is time is infinite or at least very very long compared to when it started and the present day. Then based on that premise, the probability that a simulation already happened is very close to 100% and you're already in it. That's really the crux of it.

  14.  @Kompy__  Wrong. The whole point of the probabilistic argument is the time and how fast the technology is to get there. Sure you can say that it will take a 1 celled organism 1 year to create a computer. Is that possible? Yes, probable? No.
