  4. Neil actually puts forward very good points. He has a scientific mind to question everything. I recommend you do too, instead of just taking in everything by a scientist that you might admire. That is not science, that is fangirlism and pretty close to religious fanaticism.

  6. You missed Neil's point. Ofcourse you want to save the human race, what he meant is, dont make silly reasons why we should move to other planets like saving the human race. Because it is not a pre-requisite to save the human race.

  8. I'm pretty sure we wont be hostile if the aliens are more advanced which they are more likely to be. being hostile to them is basically the death of our species. Just keep the maniacs away from them and all will be good.

  11. Tyson made a very good counter argument (which I dont think you understood). A species that likes to conquer always ends up conquering each other, therefore their energies are always pre-occupied with in-group warring, that is why whenever there is expansion, there are wars within it that cap's that expansion. Were talking about huuuuge expansions here. I mean, Genghis Khan was the most successful on doing that on earth, even he neither had the time nor resolute following to conquer the whole planet, and that was only possible because he was 1 general of all, the leader of everyone. How do you think the russians, or germans would feel about that. Hell, the U.S could be obliterated in any second if europe wanted to.
