@AJ I second that.

Explain how its a mumbo jumbo? He was very clear and made real word examples. Just because you cant comprehend it doesnt mean its mumo jumbo.

Didn't anyone else notice how Peterson just broke down the formalization of Ethics impromptu? Brilliant.

I thank Rogan though, if it wasnt for his podcast I wouldnt even know Peterson exists.

The right has nothing to do with right or wrong you idiot, it has to do with opposite directions, its arbitrary, might as well named it east and west you fool.

I don't think you understand. Truth = knowledge. Wisdom = the application of knowledge. You are combining the two together a very deceitful way. Truth can mean being omniscient. But a devil can be omniscient too. I also know that Harris is not dumb enough to think the way you did.

Emotionally invested? whats wrong with being invested? That makes us human, would you prefer someone who made claims but dont really care about what theyre saying? If you are wondering his disposition, he developed that tone from dealing with ignorant SJW's. If you can get past that and actually listen to what hes saying, then you will easily realize he is speaking for sincere concern using sound reasoning.

its better than the Derp Derp train youre riding!

I applaud Bret for turning Peterson around with his compromising logic.

1+1= 2 is a fact, and 1+1=2 and that is true. - Joe Oh Joe joe joe joe joe.. no no no no

You say that like, you solved the problem by simply aligning ourselves to fact than truth. When the real question is distinguishing the two, if there is in fact 2 of them to distinguish each other from.

Oners82 why would I allow him to replace the word? When he is using the word in context to the way Harris does? I mean you can replace any word you want all day, but it has nothing to do with Sam's point, a point which I'm addressing. Please, if you don't know what we're talking about, I suggest you keep your urge to voice your uninformed opinion to yourself. I mean even Hitchens knew the role of religion. He said ok you got us this far, now let science take over.

Wrong. The tortoise and the hare IS Science, its understanding that the one who is gonna win the race will be the one with the fastest velocity (not speed). That is science. The wisdom, is in the tortoise, that he knew this knowledge, so he proceeds to race. You cant say theres no science in that, you dont seem to see the dissociation between the two.

Curly whirly well, you didn't hesitate to disrespect females, so I just did you a favour buddy. You're welcome.

It was a satire dickwad, I thought I made that clear on my second comment. Im flipping what you said against you. It wasnt supposed to be taken literal.

God, Rogan is such an idiot accusing the other dude of propagating that a porcupine can throw quills, when all he was saying is that that represents the knowledge of religious texts and if youve never encountered a porcupine before but the texts told you what it looks like and that it throws quills, then you will know to stay away from it. Therefore, the text has metaphorical truth that just saved you from being spiked by a porcupine.

You fail to understand this thing called "language", anything you think or say can only be expressed by language in able to convey it to the other person. And that is why there are different definitions of truth because it has been embedded deeply in different ways in our language. No one is saying truth that is not literal, you basically asked the same dumb question Rogan did. I think this is over your head.
1
@dsbnh, No it doesnt change the fact, but saying that there is one truth, doesnt really help anyone. Its delineating that truth thats the problem, not not knowing its existence.
1
dsbnh you obviously don't know what peterson meant when he suggests the truth helps. He is simply offering a utilitarian point of view. If knowing the truth is helpful, which it is, the essence of being and evolution is finding out the truth. E.g. It's true that a lion is dangerous. It's true that you jump off a cliff and you die. On the otherhand, false truths are unhelpful, e.g. crocodiles are friendly. That's what he meant by truth being helpful you imbecile.
