@The00Dude This is absolutely pure deception on Biden's part. The Paycheck Protection Plan was a $953-billion business loan program established by the United States federal government in 2020 through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) to help certain businesses, self-employed workers, sole proprietors, certain nonprofit organizations, and tribal businesses continue paying their workers. and certain other costs, because the various government levels had (some would say because of over-reaction) shut down multiple businesses during the first days of the pandemic. The fact that the loan could be partially or fully forgiven was codified as part of the enabling legislation going in, IF the recipient met certain obligations such as keeping its employee count and employee wages stable.
If the PPP worked as advertised, the money wasn't going into Greene's or other recipients pockets, it should have been used to pay employees who weren't able to work in those days. To try to equate it to college loan forgiveness is comparing apples and oranges, and it's just dishonest.
