She mercilessly turned him down and ran away from him as if he was a soldier from an invading army. She then went around telling everyone that he had asked her out. Shortly afterwards the boy tried to kill himself with an overdose, I know for a fact that the unnecessary shame that she heaped on him pushed him to that action.
