Well.... It isn’t by accident! By design I’m afraid and will be over corrected as history bears out. Or perhaps we are on the precipice of a second machine age that will render human labour more obsolete and we will work less and just try to shield ourselves from further ‘pandemics’ as we move to a post agricultural society which is when slavery and ownerships of land all started up about 10,000 years ago. I try to look positively that it is not soo militarised a society as in the past and as your books document it is overall less violent and until recently we were able to travel to many countries for the people who care about travel and there are also more consumer goods to buy in the shops than 50 years ago. Also our attitudes to women have changed and we see them less as our property.
