I agree. The "solution" they came up with us actually ludicrous. It is about on a par with a minor league baseball team and the New York Yankees pooling their earnings and splitting them because the minor league team wins more minor league championships, that in turn less people watch, and have much lower revenues. It is an absolute fact that the men's World Cup viewership numbers are in the billions where the women's are barely scraping into the millions. So in other words does it really matter if the pee wee league is winning more if way fewer people are watching it, therefore creating exponentially less revenue?

As well as the US Women's soccer team nonsense. Come talk to me when you get viewership in the billions worldwide like the men's World Cup does. I mean, I do a pretty neat card trick, and I am very good at it, but I don't think David Copperfield should be splitting his earnings with me.

Most likely, the world's number one ranked curler probably earns less than the 52nd man on a 52 man NFL team who just sits the bench and makes the league minimum. But more people watch the NFL than professional curling, and there are much higher revenues. This is basically the US women's soccer team. Fine and dandy they have had a large degree of success, but MUCH less people watch women's sports, and the revenue from ticket sales, merchandise, advertising, etc, is exponentially less. Not to mention their success is against much weaker opposition. Seriously watch some clips from some of their blowout victories. My six year old is better than some of these opponents. The Men's team plays against the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, and the most talented professionals in the world.

@mrblaque I've been saying something very similar now for years. Worldwide viewership of men vs women aside (which already favours the men by nearly 1,000 to 1), it's a quality issue. Very few women's programs across the world even have any semblance of professional quality outside of the US, the Netherlands, Norway, and a handful of others. Most countries didn't even have professional women's national teams until recently. The quality of the vast majority of their competition is literally pathetic, and worse than most kids leagues in this country.
