  1. How bullet proof are Army helmets? Before watching this, I am going to guess not very. My thoughts are that they are designed more to deflect shrapnel than they are to stop an actual fired round. But I could very well be wrong. EDIT : Pretty much what I expected. Smaller rounds like a .22 and a .38 special bounce off, but bigger stuff cuts through like it's butter. The 30-30 being mostly stopped did surprise me, through I think in reality an actual person wearing this helmet that takes a 30-30 round may not actually take the bullet right in the head, it certainly wouldn't be a pleasant experience and it would at least mess you up pretty badly. That .45 round absolutely mauled that helmet, wow.
