@killerofprimes The first thing I thought of was guns as well. As Samuel Colt said, his revolver was the "great equalizer", which was true, any person regardless of stature would gain the ability to defend themselves against a much stronger attacker if the were armed, but of course in the wrong hands guns can be used for terror and destruction. Much like a hammer, or a chemical, it's how the person decides to use it, rather than the item itself being evil.

And in the later stages of the war when funding and supplies were running low, they literally just pumped exhaust from running vehicles into the gas chambers...which just goes to show if there is a will there is a way, even without advanced weaponry bad people will still find a way to do bad things.
