  1. Book smarts isn't everything. When you just parrot talking points and literally contradict science that you are supposedly so highly educated in, it makes you look like a fool. Tyson isn't dumb, he's just a fool. It's actually worse because he's a very smart fool. A dumb guy that's a fool can get away with it.

  2. ​ @sidauthur7836 Right wing activists 😂 I've often joked about that being 4 guys in a pickup truck flying a rebel flag driving around somewhere in the deep south. Because seriously that's about all it is. And maybe a handful of ultra religious. But overall, that's actually the problem with the right, they simply aren't active enough and just assume their position is logical and people will naturally gravitate to it. That might have been a safe position 100 years ago, but today the right is outworked and outspent by the left. The main reason Trump won is the left just went too far and repelled people. It's really not due to any right wing activism, which literally almost doesn't even exist.

  3. It's a pretty well known fact that intellectuals can often be socially inept. Tyson is an example of this, but he covers this up by trying to hop on board with all the perceived "popular opinions" and talking points in pop culture and media. It makes him look dumb. He's not dumb, I'm sure he's very intelligent in terms of scientific knowledge, but socially he just latches on to the flavor of the month which shows a very low social intelligence.

  5. He's actually a scientist, he just has no social intelligence and says some pretty stupid things. Bill Nye is who you are thinking of. He is not a scientist, he is an actor that plays a scientist. He is an actual joke. Tyson is what he is. He's a smart dude but he says a lot of dumb things.

  6. ​@IronThreads333What's so bad about that statement? The earth won't last forever whether or not you realize that. Sure, Mars won't either, but it's a stepping stone to expanding humanity beyond the confines of the planet earth. About a billion years from now Earth will be too hot to inhabit because of the expanding sun. Mars will eventually meet the same fate but at a much later time. Eventually if we are to last that long we would need to venture out to other places, but again Mars is important because it is a rocky planet within the habitable zone of its star, that in theory should have more time to be habitable given we can do teraforming or build some sort of environment with a breathable atmosphere, water, and plant life. It's as if you have absolutely zero knowledge of astrophysics, yet you comment on the subject and you sound foolish.

  7. When you attempt to guarantee happiness through governance, typically more people end up miserable and a select few (mostly the ruling class) end up happy. Our Constitution is a restrictive document (puts restrictions on government), rather than a document that grants rights. No rights are granted, just the ones the founders believed to be natural are protected and the government is forbidden from taking them away.

  8. Men are across the board better at anything that requires strength and/or endurance. Obviously for biological reasons, not social ones, because men naturally have more muscle mass than women. There have been occasions where a woman can outperform a man in a precision sport (such as target shooting), but anything requiring strength and endurance I am yet to see this happen. And this wouldn't include matching up an extremely weak man against one of the strongest women, I am talking in terms of averages versus averages.
