  1. The only solution is that either an eternal and infinite entity created the universe, or the universe itself is eternal and infinite (or is some sort of infinite repeating loop). Claims of a universe coming from another universe or a multiverse also does not resolve the issue of something coming from nothing because the parent universe would have to come from somewhere. Humans can't grasp the concept of infinity, but infinity is the only solution.

  2. Time is also a factor. In 13 billion years, how many civilizations have come and gone? Even to say an average civilization lasts a million years, which is generous, is so small compared to the big picture. It may be that there just are not that many around at the same time, but throughout time there are many.
