@BR0984 actually it does. Gun control doesnt prevent people from getting guns, it just raises the bar of entry. Kind of like how forcing people to get drivers licenses, and illegalizing drunk and reckless driving didnt prevent people from driving cars.

both sides are dishonest and acting in bad faith. the fact that gun control is automatically conflated with less guns, rather than more rigidly controlled gun purchases, is an immediate offender. Switzerland has an absolute massive amount of guns amongst its citizenry, yet shootings are rare and far between. this is because they do in fact practice gun control, but less so of a knee-jerk one.

@BR0984 Bullshit. This rhetoric stems from the idea that gun control = Less guns, when 99 times out of a hundred it just means higher standard for acquiring. Other countries also have a fuckton of guns, but not even an iota of the shootings. Of course there are other factors like mental health and stuff, but when you realize Greg Abbott slashed 200 million dollars from texas mental health facilities you suddenly realize that these pro-gun politicians either don't believe their own rhetoric, or they legit want people to be killed.
