thats the most heartbreaking thing. you look at the actors talk about their characters and its clear that there was something there, but it got ignored in favor of dogshit love story and cgi battles.

dead rising 2 + Oceans 11 with a light sprinkle of zombieland and smoking aces, and with a soundtrack comprised of dean martin and frank sinatra. its so obvious. Swing and a miss by Hack snyder.

to be fair, the best part of the watchmen and 300 was the cinematography, which was helped quite massively by being based on comics. fortunately snyder was working with material and a pre-existing story.

@TSPH1992 you can find most of the animated movies on youtube. some of the 3d animated ones are pretty great as well.

the whole movie wasnt nonsense though. there was that one part where a dude figured that the whole mission was fucking stupid and suicidal and instead chose to leave.

@Albert Okorogu i was jesting. the whole movie is trash, i was merely pointing out how the one dude's decision not to partake in the heist was the smartest thing in the movie.

its a show that adds a lot of great stuff and changes things for the better from the comic. the dialogue and new emphasis on Mark's homelife, Nolan being a bit more of a "dad". It makes it feel like its own thing rather than just commentary/parody on other superhero stuff. I like how Mark's mother is more assertive and more of a mother rather than just a woman who weeps in the background, or how William being gay and outwards actually makes him a character thats active in Mark's life rather than just "the gay joke" for the equivalent of 100 issues. The comic had problems. But almost everything with Amber is a shitshow, and the bits and bobs of toxic wokeness strewn in makes me fear for the future of the show. in the comic you have topics like domestic abuse and rape, topics that are complicated as is. but imagine how that will turn out when in the hands of people who cant view the world with nuance. The way they squandered Amber and made her into a narcissitic monster, imagine what else they'll do? changing little things in adaptation always results in large changes later on, and i dont trust the writers to handle it. im reluctantly pessimistic about the future of the show.
