@cousinzeke4888 "except when it comes to inventing things" isn't it interesting how scientists, doctors and the military use the metric system and Kelvin/celsius instead of the imperial system or fahrenheit? almost as if there is a reason why metric is standard in europe. and the US hasnt as much Won a whole lot of wars as much as it has destroyed entire countries. and the soviets were first in space, my dude. they were also the first to create a nuclear power grid.

tipping culture needs to die off. either you have workers acting like shitheads over not being tipped enough, or people working their asses off and not being tipped at all. companies should pay workers a full living wage.

@TheRealDrJoey the government also funds and controls research and the military, and as we have established the US has one of the most powerful academic and military institutions in the world. if the government ran the healthcare system half as well as it ran the US military, you'd have the best healthcare system in the western world.

@BenjamintYT he was literally born rich to what was essentially white aristocrat south africans. he was literally rich the moment he set foot on earth. likewise, his strategy for getting rich involved rigorous backstabbing, throatcutting and general unscrupulous shenanigans. business takeovers where he and other investors coup the actual heads of companies. thats how he got a hold of Tesla after all, before going as far as trying to revise history by making it appear as if he founded the company (he absolutely did not). but what makes him despicable isnt that he is a rich bastard, what makes him despicable is that his tactics and mannerisms show him to be an utter buffoon who relies on the brute force of money to push him over the finishing line, a strategy which no longer works (as shown with twitter) because he lacks any real long-term planning, or planning at all. combined with rumors that he doesnt actually spearhead tesla or spaceX, but is just used as a figurehead, further pushes the image that Elon is actually just a rich moron, a savvy investor.
