more like trying to unlock a door with a wet turd. Kane Pixel's actually has a sense of direction with his work, whilst most seemingly just want to make the backrooms into "SCP 2.0"

the hype train and fanfare was fucking insane. "This game has less content than halo 5" "SOUNDS LIKE A MASTERPIECE TO ME"

The issue with the"its a mental health problem"is that the same people to deflect it as a mental health issue are also the ones who defund any affordable and accessible mental health care facility.

@TheLongDon No one saying he has less rights. Just that he has more power, and so the things he do with those rights will have greater impact, especially if used recklessly Both of us are allowed to drive, but we are not allowed to go over the speed limit. Reason you got arrested was because you were speeding through a busy city whilst I was speeding on an empty highway in the middle of nowhere. Who would be a higher priority?

@KevinJohnson-cv2no thats the thing though, at one point the SCP foundation was supposed to be sort of weird and mysterious. Borderline an ARG. Like wikileaks/Wikipedia of strange anomalies and creatures. Now its community roleplay.
7
@TheLongDon when you're a massive public figure, you sort of have to. I think Jonestown sort of changed how people view the concept of whether powerful famous public figures are responsible for the things people do under their suggestive psuedo hypnosis.
7
@tylerchambers6246 Yet ancient empires still suffered massive inflation that fucked them asunder, because turns out that you NEED inflation, because without inflation you cant expand an economy. especially when you got an economy where the richest hoard their wealth to such an astronomical degree.
7
should have taken the hint when slaveowners wrote into the constitution that all men are created equal.
6
@merchant_of_kek5697 when did they do that? i only heard they criminalized harassment and discrimination of trans people.
5
@TheLongDon except our currency is tied to commodities, goods and services. that is what gives it value. Even kingdoms and empires that traded with gold suffered inflation and deflation, and their solutions were far more disastrious than ours, being forced to dilute gold with less valuable metals until even the currency they did have lost its value. so the whole "our paper money has no real value" is bullshit. the fact that we impose value on it means it has value. A Painting is just a piece of paper or cloth with splotches of paint, but its still worth millions because of imposed value.
5
@Checuke Rome still suffered massive inflation despite relying on gold, as did many ancient economies. Gold is hard to inflate, and inflation is a vital part of a thriving economy. And with gold you either have to dig up astronomical amounts to keep up the pace with a modern economy, or you need to dilute the gold. one is likely impossible, the other is suicidal.

@freetime5803 Thats an absurd hottake, considering how scps are 9 times out of 10 just creatures, concepts and cryptids taken from elsewhere. At least the backrooms have a cohesive focus on a specific type of horror.
3
@90enemies But there is a difference between people being semi-anonymous contributors vs creating OCs.
2
@devindameron kind of difficult to spend money on your own country when half the country accuses anything beyond medicare and disaster relief to be communist.

@averagejoe6352 Ar15 vs attack helicopter. Who'd win.
1
@averagejoe6352 Assuming the whole city would unite into a single faction, which it absolutely wouldn't. I always find the whole "fight the tyrannical government" shit kind of cute. Like, who exactly would you be shooting and killing? The military? The police? And why would the rest of the country, even the similarly politically aligned, side with you? No, one attack helicopter can't control an armed city. But whichever faction within the city is most organized would control you.
1
@KevinJohnson-cv2no but the problem with SCP is, as a result of being community driven, is that the writing is all over the place and what is considered canon or non-canon is thrown into the air. And even then, the individual stories and lore dont always follow the hallowed "less is more" logic, which for horror or mystery related content is 9 times out of 10 a must.

money laundering. it has to be.

Elon Musk literally walked into CD projekt's red office, with a gun in hand, and demanded to be given a cameo in Cyberpunk. Oh, but god forbid people play a violent game.

"something is up" Yes, we're in a pandemic and there is a fucking war between two of the largest grain suppliers in the western world, against one of which (a country which covers a third of the world) we're currently applying sanctions against. combine this with enviromental catastrophies, droughts and floods (must be god, since climate change is a liberal hoax), and as usual the rich get richer and their tax cuts get bigger and they buy up the only goods that retain value aka houses and property. Combine this with distrust of the economy and increased investments in volatile digital currencies and you got the shithouse in a nutshell. this isnt some grand conspiracy, this has been reality for years if not decades. why is it that you fuckers always come in like some enlightened alarmist thinking "THE END IS NIGH, THE APOCALYPSE IS NEAAAAR" when the shit we are seeing is neither new nor surprising.
1
@TheLongDon the rules still apply, its just that the harmful breaking of rules in one situation is likely to be ignored whilst another isnt. another comparison would be drunk driving. absolutely illegal, but there is a difference between driving your car from the driveway to the garage vs driving your car through the city whilst under the influence. once other people get involved, things once potentially overlooked become significantly more serious.
1
@TheLongDon except since not everyone is going to be walking around with gold and silver coins you inevitably still wind up with a hypothetical value inflated to keep up with a large population. the issue for rome wasnt "they got too much gold", its that they didnt have enough, which meant they had to dilute the currency with other metals until inevitably they had a currency that was borderline fiat. and you're right, the only thing propping up the Dollar is every country reliant on the dollar... which in my mind seems like a pretty solid base. if the world was to collapse and all economies would go to shit and mad max happens, the men who make their way from the ashes arent going to be the gold barons, but the people who stocked up beforehand.

Oh fuck off Only republicans are trying to downplay the politics of this. The parents aren't just mourning they're pissed.
1
@Fellati0 actually its backed by centuries of commodities and wide usage. thats what makes fiat currencies>crypto currencies, because everyone has access to fiat currencies and utilize them in day to day actual trading.
