  2. Are Republicans Starting to Panic Over Musk’s Doge Assault on NIH? Every organization can cut 10% with no cuts in service. Especially organizations that don't go through periodic re-examination of their spend and how to do more with less. If the head of the NIH hasn't been looking at ways to streamline and decrease costs to taxpayers they aren't doing their job.

  6. Actually Republicans don't mind if Democrats shut the government down. Government is the Democrat's holy religion. Shutting the government down would be the equivalent of the Pope shutting down the Vatican.

  7. The voters right now believe that Democrats are adamantly opposed to audits of major budgets because they're protecting pet projects or worse, graft. USAID is a losing proposition for the DNC, but apparently it's the hill they want to die on. I've got the popcorn out as they continue to oppose audits.
