  7.  @jeffmiller903  Yes. Quite predictable. She's fairly unlikeable, she doesn't have the built-in base of old people. And Kamala herself is 60 years old, so she's not exactly a young Jack Kennedy popping onto the scene. She's a known quantity with no accomplishments and a border disaster to her name. This is quite different than 2020 when Biden was consider a Safe Candidate (but who also turned into a disaster himself). So in 2024 to go to a Kamala Rally is really about being a paid volunteer who will be like an old-time block monitor to get out the vote. Which would be clever if this was April. But it's late summer with no time to raise enough cash, and not enough time to make up her considerable deficits in the polls. Trump this time has an energetic ground game. And most important the Democrats don't have COVID to help them this time. It could be a landslide for Trump.

  12. The DNC is such an angry, ugly affair, it's probably driving thousands of voters away from the craziness each hour. If Trump is even or slightly ahead of Harris, he'll win in a landslide. I suspect the more Kamela talks, the more people are going to ask "Hey Kamela, why are you running against your own record?".

  18. Pelosi has hated Trump since he stopped her from using an Air Force transport for her and her family to go to Europe during a government shutdown. She was forced to pay her way and her family's way on a commercial airplane and right after that she decided she would impeach him for something. She's the definition of evil.

  19. Yes they really are. If they pick anyone else but Kamala, the $200M warchest is for Biden/Harris. It can't be given to Gretchen, Pete or Gavin. So they would have to find $200M in 6 weeks to be competitive.

  21. Trump has always been ahead in this race. There are some marginal polls the press and DNC (I repeat myself), that showed the race close, but in reality it's not close at the moment. And the reason Trump went to Montana to elect a republican senator is to replace Democrat Jon Testor with Republican Tim Sheehy to ensure he has a favorable congress when he's elected. And it's not that Kamala didn't pick Shapiro; he turned her down. He didn't want to get tarred with the failure of Kamala, and really you can't blame him for that. Why destroy his own chances for 2028 to save Harris?

  22. @depressed ginger have you considered two things a) Polymarket has proven remarkably sensitive to campaigns manipulating them by dumping money into their candidate b) in addition, these are gamblers . They're hedging bets to offset their Trump bets, especially when Kamala dips low, which tends to bring the two candidates closer to each other. As to this being 50/50, that seems unlikely. I do believe polesters will fiddle with their polling to please whoever is paying for the pole. Trump has got this. Just get out and vote.

Let's just agree on this one thing: Back in May/June both democrats are republicans agreed Kamala was the worst VP in history. Two months later, she's good enough to run for president? ***** please. A swing of 25% in a few days? The chance of that happening in reality is less than your chances of winning the billion dollars lottery.

  39.  @zachhoward9099  Actually I get my healthcare insurance free with my job, and the transaction with the doctor is handled by the doctor and insurance company, not me. Some doctors charge a $10-20 "co-pay", but most don't. It couldn't be easier.

  40. The overriding theme for this election (as per the NYT) is the electorate wants change. Harris is not considered a change agent. And the CNN poll directly after the debate showed that people had even more faith in Trump to fix the economy. As to the duck/cat/dog story in Springfield, people laughed at Trump, but those people forget how much people love their pets and the idea that illegals are coming in and eating their pets hits at a visceral level. People are saying it's not true, but the evidence is out there on both YouTube and X

Everyone should pay income tax because they wouldn't be asking for handouts because they'd realize they'd have to pay more taxes to pay for them. Democrats like to claim 1960's were the golden years of taxation, but they forget the guy making minimum wage (which was about $1.25 an hour) had to pay income tax on that. I'm down with that if you are.
