Trump has always been ahead in this race. There are some marginal polls the press and DNC (I repeat myself), that showed the race close, but in reality it's not close at the moment. And the reason Trump went to Montana to elect a republican senator is to replace Democrat Jon Testor with Republican Tim Sheehy to ensure he has a favorable congress when he's elected. And it's not that Kamala didn't pick Shapiro; he turned her down. He didn't want to get tarred with the failure of Kamala, and really you can't blame him for that. Why destroy his own chances for 2028 to save Harris?
