  2. The overriding theme for this election (as per the NYT) is the electorate wants change. Harris is not considered a change agent. And the CNN poll directly after the debate showed that people had even more faith in Trump to fix the economy. As to the duck/cat/dog story in Springfield, people laughed at Trump, but those people forget how much people love their pets and the idea that illegals are coming in and eating their pets hits at a visceral level. People are saying it's not true, but the evidence is out there on both YouTube and X
