They run only 24-40% of the time, producing much less than “nameplate” capacity figures would suggest. Adding batteries brings extra strain: battery storage is 141 times more expensive than liquefied natural gas, and every 1KWh of battery storage requires 50KWh of energy to create it So next time someone tells you the wind and solar will power EVs are either unaware of the real figures or they're lying.

  2. Sources indicate the government(s) in the US, taxpayers are subsidizing each EV to the tune of $55,000 USD. Which means the real cost of EVs is generally about double what the sticker price is.
