  1. Depreciation has always been the Achilles heel of these cars. Consumer Reports (A popular consumer non-profit testing organization) has been an advocate of leasing EV for the last several years primarily because these cars are so electronics/software dependent that even if the Tesla of today looks like the Tesla of 10 years ago, there are profound differences in electronics & software that make a significant difference so that you never want an EV more than 3 years old.
