  1. It's an interesting technology, but we're a long way away from driverless cars being reliable enough to be acceptable. And yes, people make mistakes when driving, but the nature of self-driving cars means they have to be fairly close to flawless. Maybe 20 years from now? People thought we'd have them by now, but it appears the technology plateaued and we'll be waiting a while.
