The reality is for all that supposed efficiency, the batteries are the weak point for EVs and not just a small weak point, but a major weak point. The power source hasn't the energy density needed, Lithium is fairly dangerous when it catches fire, Lithium cannot be charged quickly or it will heat up both destroying the battery and catching fire. And finally the construction of a Lithium battery is such that when a few key cells go bad, the entire $50K battery has to be replaced. The usual comeback is "they work well enough for me", try to be a little more creative in a way that doesn't assume you're a typical user.

  12. My good friends who are huge EV believers in this channel has assured me that not only are long-haul trucks feasible, they will get here within the year.
