@sugarnads ...and they failed 100 years ago because of charging problems and range problems...

@AreYouSeriouslyy Not according to the statistics at Consumer Reports. The most reliable brands are Lexus, Toyota, Honda, Mazda and Subaru. Some of the German makes come next, and EVs are actually significantly worse than these cars. In fact, they're roughly at the same reliability as Dodge RAM pickups

@justsomeguy934 Oh, absolutely true. You just have no knowledge of automotive history. Detroit Electric was the favorite of wealthy women, because they weren't strong enough to crank the engine. Once Cadillac invented the electric starter Detroit Electric failed because of range issues, and battery issues. So stop pretending you know what you're talking about and accept that the electric car had already failed over 100 years ago and it on the verge of failing again today for precisely the same reason. As long as electrics are going to drag around that heavy battery, they'll never succeed.

@derekr1113 Electric Viking is hardly an expert on the history of battery powered cars.

@vanessasorino6463 Not in the US. "they" will shortly be removed from office.

@justsomeguy934 Well, you're the one guy who had a terrible experience. Maybe you should have taken your car to a different toyota dealer.

@justsomeguy934 There is no reason for electric cars to exist given how fundamentally better gas/diesel cars are compared with EVs. End the taxpayer subsidies now and let the market decide. And no, you don't know what you're talking about. They failed in the 20th century, they're failing again int he 21st century. Let the corpse of the electric car lie in peace.
