My estimate from a couple years back is because of the increased charge times, you'd need about 8x the number EV chargers as gas pumps, which will require significant investment in industrial 440V lines throughout the country, yes, even in the back woods. Which means more generating capacity as well. The infrastructure costs are really not affordable. It's one of the many reasons that EVs will always be a niche.
