@kiae-nirodiariesencore4270 They may know more than bills6093, but its fair to say the politicians saying we'll convert to all electric in 10 years are engaged in magical thinking

@kiae-nirodiariesencore4270 Most real estimates say that regular cars and trucks will be the primary source of transportation through the 2050's, and we'll be dependent on oil/gas until the 22nd century. This is an application of practical thinking

@chrismuller2780 the grid itself is becoming irrelevant You may be right about this, but that day is probably a century away. This is an example of magical thinking .

@CynthiaRockroth You can't make it mandatory for multi-story flats in cities, the roof area won't begin to support the needs of these buildings.

@davecooper3238 A powerwall is about $12K US installed, not counting the solar bits. That buys a lot of electricity from the grid.
2
@SeattlePioneer That's the damned problem with people and their gas cars. It's really hard to control their movement without a massive and overbearing police state.
2
@williammeek4078 Billy, your electric vehicle has an off switch that is controlled by the government. Did you not know this? Bless your heart.

@MGUY Australia, let me give you a hint. It's not just a lack of knowledge or an understanding of what it takes to electrify ... they just don't care. They are an example of King Canute syndrome. They engage in magical thinking. Leaders today around the globe are unserious people.

@GhostRangerr When you have two guys, Obama and Biden pushing these kinds of choices, these are people who were in the bottom half of their class in college, were the two worst presidents in the history of the united states, who have no idea about infrastructure and science.... Well, you get magical thinking from these people.

@williammeek4078 Businesses exist to make profit. That's what they're about.

@davecooper3238 I'm quoting US prices

@williammeek4078 Billy, it most certainly does not. That would imply it has a cellular connection, which is doesn't. That's very easy to test, BTW. Meanwhile, you need a cellular connection to tell you where the closest charger is, because, well, driving an EV required you to understand where chargers are at all times.

@williammeek4078 Billy, cars don't have onstar unless you're buying GM. No GM cars in my fleet Nobody does onstar anymore, since most people have this magic thing called a "cell phone" . Billy, you're thrashing now. Nobody is stopping from loving you EV. But nobody else has to love your EV.
1
@williammeek4078 the problem you have is assuming your ICEV will have a full tank. Jerrycans are a thing.

@williammeek4078 Billy, nothing you've said here has made any sense. We're all dumber for having read your posts. You are awarded no points, and may god have mercy on your soul.
