In the early part of the 20th century, battery cars were the favorite of the wives wealthy men because they didn't need to be cranked to start. I believe they went out of business in the 1930's when the electric starter became common.

Actually it makes sense. Analysts say there's not enough copper in the world for an all-EV future, so if you're going to build chargers, something has to give. In this case, it's existing chargers.

@seannewman5391 Well, it's progress that you admit we're coming out of the little ice age, which explains much of the temperature rise in the late 20th century and beyond.

@killman369547 For EVs to be more than a curiosity in the US, lithium batteries have to go, and energy density of the replacement has to be about 3x what it is today and about half the weight of lithium batteries.

If you want a net-zero future, go live in the woods. That's the only way to accomplish it. And even then, you can't cut down trees for fires. Let us know how it all works out for you.
